COME TO THE FEAST!

A few weeks ago our Second Grade children received their First Holy Communion. It is always special to see the children so excited to receive the Body and Blood of Christ for the first time. The Eucharist is the center of our Catholic faith. The bread and wine that is brought up during the Offertory procession at Mass is turned into the Body of Blood of Jesus Christ. When we receive the Eucharist we receive Jesus!

Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ traditionally known as “Corpus Christi.” In today’s Gospel, we read the famous Gospel of Multiplication of loaves and fishes. This miracle is reported in all four Gospels. Let us be grateful we are Catholic and be grateful that we are fed and nourished at each Mass we attend. We are the Body of Christ.

COME TO THE FEAST!

Something to Think About… In Holy Communion we have Christ under the appearance of bread. In our work we find him under the appearance of flesh and blood. It is the same Christ. -Blessed Mother Theresa of Calcutta.

Happy Memorial Day! May we never forget their sacrifices!
